On October 17,2026 Lawrence County Fire Rescue units responded to a reported field fire in the West End Fire District. First arriving units reported a wind driven fire in an approximately 25 acre hay field that had recently been cut.
During fire suppression the fire growth was being fueled by a constant 13 mph wind with gusts of up to 25 mph.
