Subject: Structure Fire

On Monday October 5,2026 at approximately 3:20 PM Lawrence County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a reported residential structure fire on Chief Creek Road in the Henryville Fire District.

Initial dispatch information indicated that the structure was heavily involved and spreading into a wooded area. An immediate full alarm response was initiated. First arriving units found a large two story residence fully involved with fire extension to a pick up truck, a motorcycle, a boat, and approximately 2 acres of wooded area. Our personnel worked diligently to stop the progress of the fire, and extinguish it. The fire occurred in a non hydrated area of the County.

Our personnel were able to establish a water supply by drafting water from a nearby creek to support the tanker shuttle operation. In all, personnel from 6 LCFR stations responded to the scene to assist in suppression efforts.

Unfortunately the fire resulted in a total loss to the residence. According to the property owners, no one was at home at the time of the fire. All of the residents of the home are safe and accounted for. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. We ask that you keep the residents of the home in your thoughts and prayers.
