Lawrenceburg woman claims it was an ATV accident but prosecutors say she murdered her husband.
District Attorney General Brent Cooper earlier this year asked the TBI to investigate the death of 37-year-old James Matthew Maddox where Authorities subsequently determined Maddox’s wife, Jocelyn Rose Fouth Maddox was responsible for his death.
She had called police to report her husband had suffered severe injuries from an ATV accident where at the time, authorities took her explanation at face value.
But further investigation by the TBI and sheriff’s detectives determined there was no evidence of an ATV accident and they believe Maddox caused injuries to her husband at their home which then resulted in his death.
Agents also determined that, several months earlier, she had attempted to run her husband over with a vehicle.
This week, the Lawrence County Grand Jury returned indictments, charging Maddox with one count of Second Degree Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault.
