VOLUNTARY WATER CONSERVATION REQUEST

Due to the continued hot, dry weather and ongoing drought conditions, the City of St. Joseph is asking all water customers to voluntarily reduce unnecessary water usage until conditions improve.

Our water system continues to serve the community, but periods of extreme heat and limited rainfall can significantly increase demand. A little conservation from everyone can make a big difference in reducing strain on our water system and ensuring adequate water remains available for essential needs.

We are asking customers, when possible, to:

• Limit lawn and landscape watering. If watering is necessary, please do so during the early morning or evening hours.

• Avoid washing vehicles, driveways, sidewalks, and other outdoor surfaces unless necessary.

• Postpone filling or topping off swimming pools when possible.

• Check outdoor faucets, hoses, and plumbing for leaks.

• Reduce other non-essential water use and be mindful of daily consumption.

These measures are voluntary at this time. We are simply asking everyone to do their part while the hot and dry conditions continue.

Taking these steps now can help protect our water supply, reduce stress on the water system, and lessen the possibility that more restrictive measures could become necessary later.

We appreciate the cooperation of our residents and water customers and will continue monitoring conditions.
