Lawrence County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a fatal bush hog accident on Thursday.

 

Lawrence County Sheriff's Office arrived at a residence on Waterloo Road where Billy Joe Mayfield, 76, had been performing maintenance on a bush hog.

Lawrence County EMS determined that Mayfield had been working on his bush hog when he became pinned underneath it which was not running at the time of the accident.

Mayfield’s was reported dead on the scene where his death was ruled accidental.
