ST. JOSEPH POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN THEFT INVESTIGATION

The City of St. Joseph and the St. Joseph Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in an ongoing investigation involving a significant theft from the Orange and White Shop located on Shelton Drive in St. Joseph.
The theft is believed to have occurred sometime within the past two weeks and was discovered by the property owners on Saturday. The investigation is now being handled by the St. Joseph Police Department.
Earlier today, St. Joseph officers assisted the property owners in recovering some of the stolen property that had been hidden in a wooded area behind the shop.
A substantial amount of property remains missing, including:
• A large blue or green safe
• Firearms
• Jewelry
• Welders and welding equipment
• Torch tanks
• New semi-truck tires and rims
• Wheeled battery charger
• Kayaks
• Power tools
• Sockets, screwdrivers, wrenches and other hand tools
• Cherry picker/engine hoist
• Small metal trailer
• Impact tools
• Tools and equipment used for working on semi-trucks
• Old coins
• Other shop-related tools and equipment
Investigators are particularly interested in any information concerning suspicious activity in the Shelton Drive area during the past two weeks, including anyone who may have observed a box truck, rental truck, trailer or other vehicle being used to transport property from the location.
Residents, pawn shops, tool dealers and others are also asked to be alert for any of these items being offered for sale.
A reward is being offered by the property owner for information leading to an arrest or the recovery of the missing property.
Anyone with information regarding this theft, the location of the stolen property, or individuals who may have been involved is urged to contact the St. Joseph Police Department.
