Authorities delve into pair of bicycle thefts

Law enforcement officials opened investigations early in the week into a pair of bicycle thefts reportedby Lawrenceburg residents. Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that officers were dispatched Monday to a Fourth Street residence.

The resident reported that her son’s black, Mongoose bicycle had been stolen out of the driveway. The son said he thought he had noticed a man riding the bike on Fifth Street. He said he was a white male in his 20s with a goatee and dressed in a hoodie.

The value of the bicycle was said to be $300.On Tuesday, officers were called to Third Street where a resident reported his seventeen-speed bicyclehad been stolen from a walkway near his back door.

He told officers that when he got home his back door was standing open, however nothing appeared to be missing from inside his home. Loss was around $100. Anyone with information on these cases should contact the police department at 931-762-2276.
