PUBLIC NOTICE UPDATE | SEPTEMBER 10, 2026 PUBLIC HEARINGS

The City of Lawrenceburg would like to provide clarification regarding several public notices that have recently been republished with new public hearing dates.
The August City Council meeting was originally scheduled for August 13, 2026. Public notices were published in advance based on that meeting date. The City Council meeting was later rescheduled to August 14, 2026, which meant the dates listed in the original published notices were no longer correct.
Because public hearings are required to be advertised within specific notice timeframes, simply changing the date of the meeting was not enough. The affected notices had to be republished with the corrected dates, and the public hearings had to be moved to allow the full required notice period.
As a result, the following public hearings will now be held:
Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 9:00 AM
Lawrenceburg Municipal Complex, 25 Public Square
The affected items include:
• RZN-26-0004 – Gimlet Park Rezoning
Proposed rezoning of approximately 53.74 acres at 196 Gimlet Road from R2 Low-Density Residential to R3 Medium-Density Residential.
• RZN-26-0005 – Trinity Cove Rezoning
Proposed rezoning of approximately 13.31 acres near West Point Road and U.S. Highway 64 from R2 Low-Density Residential to R4 High-Density Residential.
• Ordinance No. 1458 – Amendments to the City of Lawrenceburg Residential Zoning Regulations
Proposed updates to the City's residential zoning districts and development standards, including the creation of new R5, R6 and R7 zoning districts.
The proposed requests and amendments have not changed as a result of the rescheduling. The new hearing date is necessary to ensure the City follows the required public notice process and that the public receives proper notice and an opportunity to attend and be heard.
We understand that seeing notices published more than once with different dates can be confusing, so we wanted to explain why the notices were republished.
Anyone interested in these items is encouraged to attend the September 10 City Council meeting.
Copies of the applicable case files and proposed ordinance are also available for public inspection at the Lawrenceburg Municipal Complex.
