Over the weekend, investigators from the Giles County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence where they discovered a plastic bottle with tubes,
believed to be a homemade device used to produce methamphetamine.
The device is associated with the “one-pot” or “shake and bake” method of meth production.
Authorities warn that this method carries high risks of explosions, chemical burns, and poisoning.
The gases produced can be lethal. Residents who encounter such devices are urged not to touch, move, or tamper with them.
The Sheriff’s Office advises calling local authorities immediately, who will safely investigate and dispose of the device using proper safety procedures.
