Subject: Structure Fire


At approximately 2:11 AM this date Lawrence County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a reported structure in the Crossroads fire district. Initial dispatch information indicated that the homeowners had awakened to discover their detached garage heavily involved with fire.

At the time of the 911 call the caller reported that the garage fire was endangering the residence which was approximately 10’ from the garage. In less than 10 minutes LCFR units arriving on scene reported a fully involved detached garage fire, with fire extension to the residence.

The residents of the home had self evacuated from the residence. Firefighters immediately began suppression efforts on the residence and were able to quickly stop the progress of the fire, before extinguishing the detached garage fire. Fortunately, as a result of a coordinated fire attack the residents were not displaced from their home as a result of the fire.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
