Giles County rescue teams evacuate family trapped in rising floodwaters during severe weather

Multiple residents were evacuated by rescue teams on Big Dry Creek overnight.

PULASKI, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Giles County Fire and Rescue squad had a busy night due to some severe weather that moved through the Pulaski area.

Multiple units responded to trapped residents during Tuesday night’s storms.

Giles County’s swiftwater team utilized their inflatable rafts to rescue four people who were trapped in their homes by rapidly rising floodwaters along Big Dry Creek.

The rescue teams were successful in bringing all the residents to a safe area where they received medical treatment.

The overnight efforts were a coordination between Giles County Emergency Management, Giles County Sheriff’s Office and the Lawrence County Fire and Rescue teams.
