Subject: Residential Structure Fire

On June 29,2026 at approximately 2:27PM Lawrence County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the Leoma Fire District. LCFR units arrived on the scene approximately 3 minutes after being dispatched to find a working fire with smoke and flames visible. First arriving units launched an aggressive interior attack to stop the progress of the fire while personnel searched the residence for victims. Several LCFR units responded to the scene for manpower along with units from Lawrenceburg Fire Department, and Lawrence County EMA.
The fire was brought under control before it could spread throughout the entire home. The residence was occupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental in nature. Properly functioning smoke alarms inside the home did alert the resident of the fire.
Outside temperatures at the time of the fire were over 90 degrees. Lawrence County EMS responded to the scene and provided medical monitoring for the firefighters operating at the scene.
Note: It is important to know that last year our Lawrence County Official’s voted to increase funding to Lawrence County Fire Rescue in order to provide supplemental daytime staffing to assist our dedicated volunteers during the daytime hours when volunteer availability is critically low. There is no doubt that their investment made a difference at this incident, and many others.
