FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Lawrence County EMS Earns National Recognition for Excellence in Heart Attack and Stroke Care
Lawrence County, TN — Lawrence County EMS has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® EMS Achievement Award in recognition of its dedication to delivering fast, evidence-based care to patients experiencing severe heart attacks and strokes.
The award highlights the agency’s commitment to improving outcomes through rapid response and adherence to nationally recognized treatment guidelines. EMS providers can begin critical interventions upon arrival—far sooner than if patients travel by car—and are trained in advanced resuscitation techniques for cardiac arrest.
Mission: Lifeline® is the American Heart Association’s national initiative to improve care for high-risk, time-sensitive conditions like heart attacks and strokes. The program emphasizes coordination across the entire chain of care, from the 911 call to EMS response, hospital treatment, and discharge.
“Emergency Medical Services are arguably the most vital link in the chain of survival for stroke and cardiac emergencies,” said Dr. Kacey Kronenfeld, Chair of the AHA’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Taskforce. “Early identification, stabilization, and integration into regional systems of care give patients the best chance at survival and quality of life.”
The Mission: Lifeline EMS award specifically recognizes excellence in prehospital care and the essential role EMS agencies play in improving patient outcomes.
“We are honored to be recognized by the American Heart Association,” said Lawrence County EMS. “This award reflects our team's hard work and our ongoing commitment to providing the highest level of care to the people of Lawrence County. Every day, we put proven practices into action to give our patients the best possible chance of survival.”
