Driver killed after passing dump trucks in no-passing zone in Lawrence County, THP says

A Charger was passing two dump trucks in a no-passing zone when it collided head-on with the concrete truck, THP’s report said.

LAWRENCE CO., Tenn. (WSMV) - A driver was killed in a head-on crash Tuesday in Lawrence County, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

THP’s report said a concrete truck was traveling north on Red Hill Center Road as a Dodge Charger was traveling south just after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The Charger was passing two dump trucks in a no-passing zone when it collided head-on with the concrete truck, the report said.

The driver of the Charger, Stephen Rivers, 36, of Tennessee, was killed in the crash. The concrete truck driver was not injured, the report said.

THP’s report said the dump trucks were not involved in the crash.

No charges are being filed in relation to the crash.
