NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was charged with attempted criminal homicide after allegedly strangling his mother and holding her hostage in the McKissack Park area of Nashville.
According to arrest documents, the incident was reported by the woman’s uncle after he visited the residence Monday to check on her. The victim informed him she was in fear for her life due to her son’s actions, and the man contacted police.
According to arrest documents, officers arrived to the 600 block of 27th Avenue North on Monday, and immediately took the son, Terrance Lamar, 38, into custody.
The victim recalled being strangled to the point of unconsciousness by Lamar while he stated he would “kill her and take all of her money and belongings,” documents said. The victim also said Lamar used a sock to attempt to choke her to death. Lamar had reportedly waited to see if the victim woke up, and when she did, he would not allow her to leave the room.
