Lawrence County crews are working at the site that will be the Southern Tennessee Higher Education Center.

The 40 acre tract of property is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. 43 and the U.S. 64 bypass which is just south of Lawrenceburg. This is where the Southern Tennessee Higher Education Center is being built.

Classes from Columbia State, Tennessee Technological University, Middle Tennessee State University and Martin Methodist College will be housed at this Education Center.

Students will be able to earn an Associate degree from Columbia State, and be able to earn a Bachelor's in the programs offered by the other institutions there.

It is expected that classes will begin in January 2020.
