The Lawrence County School System is pleased to announce the appointment of Hope Thomason as the new Career Technical Education (CTE) Director.

Thomason will oversee the district’s CTE programs, which includes the development, implementation, and administration of career-focused education programs. She will be replacing current CTE Director, Shannon Watson upon her retirement in June.

In this new role, Mrs. Thomason will be responsible for leading the development of CTE programs, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring that the curriculum aligns with industry standards. With a commitment to innovation and practical training, she aims to create a dynamic learning environment that prepares students for career success.

"I'm honored to be appointed the Career Technical Education Director for Lawrence County Schools," said Thomason. "This role is an incredible opportunity to work with educators, students, and industry partners to build a strong foundation for our CTE programs. I look forward to continuing and building new pathways that lead to rewarding careers."

Thomason brings 12 years of experience in career technical education, with a focus in business and marketing education. She has most recently served as Workforce Development Coordinator for Lawrence County Schools, where she created connections between education and employers, fostering partnerships with local businesses, and ensuring that school programs align with workforce needs. This extensive experience will contribute to the continued growth and success of Lawrence County Schools CTE offerings.

Under Thomason’s leadership, Lawrence County Schools will continue to strive for robust CTE offerings and enhance partnerships with local businesses, ensuring that students have access to real-world learning experiences, and develop in-demand skills.

Thomason is grateful for the support of her loved ones, including her husband Blake, son Owen, and step-daughter Audrey.
