Lawrence County Fire and Rescue released the following information and photo:

Subject: Vehicle/Brush Fire Endangering Residence

Lawrence County Fire Rescue units have just returned to service from a fire involving vehicles, and brush that was within 30ft of a residential structure.

Firefighters arrived on scene quickly and were unable to access the driveway in a fire apparatus. Our personnel were able to utilize a long hose lay to access the vehicles on fire after cutting an access through the tree line while another team of our firefighters held the fire off of the residence with fire extinguishers.

The remaining 1.5 acres of field fire was extinguished using hand tools and water extinguishers. The fire occurred in the Gandy Fire District.
