Lawrence County Fire & Rescue Tennessee


It’s been a busy week for local first responders. Several times this week Lawrence County Fire Rescue units along with Lawrence County EMS have responded to calls for service to find patients with life threatening injuries or medical conditions.

On many of these calls for service after patients have received high levels of care on the scene the were flown by air medical units to trauma centers and specialty hospitals.
One of the responsibilities of Lawrence County Fire Rescue is to provide a safe, secure, and accessible landing zone for the incoming Helicopter EMS unit responding to the scene.

This is a responsibility that we do not take lightly. Our personal are trained to establish these landing zones, communicate potential and existing hazards to the flight crew, secure the landing zone, and be prepared for any type incident that could occur while the aircraft is landing or taking off.
