APRIL 2026: CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH

Today, April 2, 2026, Lawrence County Executive David Morgan and Lawrenceburg Mayor Blake Lay signed a proclamation recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and honoring the vital work of Kid's Place/ A Child Advocacy Center.

Kid’s Place serves children and families across the 22nd Judicial District—Giles, Lawrence, Maury, and Wayne Counties—by providing critical support and resources to those impacted by abuse.

Through strong partnerships with law enforcement, child protective services, and the District Attorney’s Office, Kid’s Place plays an essential role in protecting children and promoting healing for victims of abuse.

Lawrence County remains committed to supporting efforts that prevent child abuse and strengthen families. Residents, businesses, and community organizations are encouraged to promote awareness and show their support throughout the month of April.

Together, we can help ensure the safety and well-being of every child in our community.
