The Lawrence County TN Soil & Water Conservation District held its 2026 Annual Banquet,

bringing together local farmers, community members, and leaders to celebrate the important role agriculture and conservation play in Lawrence County.

Congratulations to Stan Methvin, who was recognized as the Outstanding Conservationist of the Year for his commitment to conservation and responsible land stewardship.

Lawrence County Executive David Morgan also shared remarks on the vital role farmers play in our community and the importance of preserving farmland for future generations. Guests also heard about upcoming SWCD programs, the use of drones for crop applications, and virtual fencing to contain livestock without posts, wire, or physical infrastructure.

A special thank you to Lawrence County Government District Technician Donna Garretson for her continued work and dedication to supporting conservation efforts in our county.
