NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 39-year-old woman was taken into custody Sunday morning after an officer spotted her running naked amid protests in Centennial Park.
According to court documents, an officer was on routine patrol when he spotted a naked woman with a sign running toward people gathered in the park on West End Avenue. Protesters gathered in Centennial Park Sunday to protest the United States’ involvement in the strikes on Iran.
The officer began to attempt to detain the woman and she ran away screaming “No.” Metro police reported the officer was able to get her in a patrol car before she bit him on the inside of his arm. The officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment of the bite and possible blood-borne illnesses.
Investigators believe the woman was under the influence of an intoxicant due to her “heavy perspiration and exceptionally large pupils.”
She was booked into the Metro jail around 11 a.m. and charged with felony aggravated assault on a first responder and four misdemeanors including, public indecency, resisting arrest, evading arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Her bond was set at $25,000.
