***BREAKING: INFANT DIES AFTER CAR CRASHES INTO POND.

This wreck happened earlier tonight near the 200 block of Napier Road and CC Road in Lawrence County, TN.
A dive team was called to the scene.
District Attorney Brent Cooper confirms to me that there was an adult male behind the wheel and an infant in an unsecured car seat when the vehicle crashed into the pond.
The driver made it out of the water.
The infant was thrown from the vehicle while still strapped in the car seat and ended up in the water.

The baby died at the scene in the car seat.
No word on how or why the car crashed into the pond

Both Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies and the THP are on scene.
The driver is being questioned and will be tested to see if he was under the influence.
General Cooper says criminal charges are pending.
