Subject: Emergency Medical Response

We are pleased to share with you that the Leoma Fire Department has entered into an agreement with Lawrence County EMS to begin responding to high priority medical emergencies in the Leoma Fire District. The goal of the program is to improve patient outcomes by providing medical intervention as quickly as possible by the closest available trained personnel.

The partnership program between Lawrence County Fire Rescue and Lawrence County EMS began in October of 2014. Leoma Fire Department is the 8th Lawrence County Fire Rescue station to join the program.

The decision by Leoma Fire to join the program came at the request of members of our community including founding members of the department. We currently have 8 licensed emergency medical providers on our roster. Our personnel have worked hard to obtain the needed equipment and training to meet the requirements of the program. It is our goal to go completely live with the program within the next 30 days.
