Subject: Structure Fire

On February 1,2026 at approximately 7PM Lawrence County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the West Point Fire District. West Point units arrived quickly to find a two story residential structure with heavy fire conditions in approximately 60% of the home.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire in sub zero temperatures. Due to poor water supply the units on scene had to rely on a tanker shuttle operation to supply water for fire suppression.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.
Responding stations: West Point, Iron City, Gandy, Leoma, and South East. Loretto Fire Department along with Holly Creek Fire Department responded as part of a mutual aid request.
