LCEMS DELIVERS HEALTHY BABY GIRL

Just before 3:00 PM on Sunday, 2/1, Lawrence County E-911 received a 911 call for a female in active labor. Lawrence County EMS Units 210 and 207 responded to the residence and began transport to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Lawrenceburg.
During transport, Paramedic Michael Wright and Paramedic Jason Ritch determined that delivery was imminent. The crew made the decision to safely pull over at Rick’s BBQ in Loretto to allow additional crew members to assist with the delivery.
At approximately 3:28 PM, a healthy baby girl, Kalani Odom, was born weighing 6 lbs 9 oz and measuring 18 inches long. We are pleased to report that both mom and baby are doing well. Following delivery, crews continued transport to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Lawrenceburg.
We are incredibly proud of our LCEMS team! Paramedic Michael Wright, Paramedic Jason Ritch, AEMT Cindy McDow, and AEMT Dylan Newton did an outstanding job welcoming this new life into the world. While obstetrical emergencies are not something our crews encounter every day, they train and prepare for moments exactly like this. A special shoutout to our partners at Lawrence County E‑911 for answering the call and providing critical pre-arrival instructions. We couldn’t do what we do without their dedication, service, and support.
Congratulations to the family, and welcome to the world, Kalani!
