Melvin David Roberts, born November 26, 1957, passed away peacefully on January 14 surrounded by loved ones. Leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering generosity.
A true outdoorsman at heart, David found great joy in fishing, and spending time in nature. He cherished his family and friends with every fiber of his being, always ready to lend a helping hand without hesitation. His selflessness touched countless lives—he never turned his back on anyone in need—and he will be deeply missed by so many who were fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Dusty Roberts.
David is survived by his devoted mother, Lilla Mae Roberts;
One son Rickey Smith; One daughter Ashley Young
Two brothers Charles Roberts and Jeff Roberts; Two sisters Brenda Corbin and Glenda Ragland; eight grandchildren: Trevor Helson, Dusty Raines, Alison Lyons, Jessica Grinnell, Shiney Helson, and Stormy Fisher, Gavin Smith, Harrison Smith; and four great-grandchildren: Andrew Hinojosa, Aria Hinojosa, Arlo Helson, and Archer Helson.
Though his time with us has ended, David's spirit of kindness, dedication to family, and love for life's simple pleasures will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. The family invites those whose lives he touched to share memories and find comfort in the joy he brought to so many. Arrangements are entrusted to the family.
