Money stolen from elderly resident’s bank account

Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that an elderly woman suffered thousands of dollars worth of loss recently when her bank account was accessed while she was hospitalized. Police reports indicate that the eighty-four year old victim had been in the hospital, then stayed at a rehabilitation facility for an extended period of time.

She told officers that two days after returning home, she received a bank statement in the mail. She was looking over the statement and realized that some $6,892.84 had been taken without her permission.

Officers were able to contact Titlemax in Pulaski, where one of the transactions was made. Store officials provided them with the name of a man who had allegedly made the transaction.

When officers filed their reports they were continuing to look into the matter. It is believed that the man is married to one of the victim’s relatives.
