Dropped bank bag is stolen

Authorities were asked to investigate recently when a member of the Lions Club returned to retrieve a bank bag he had dropped, only to find that it had been stolen. The club member, age 65, explained the matter to Lawrenceburg Police officers, saying that he had been selling brooms for the Lions Club in the 400 block of First Street when the crime occurred.

The club member told officers that he was in the middle of the block when he noticed that he had apparently dropped the red bank bag.

He said he walked back to pick it up, but was unable to locate it. He told officers he believed someone had taken it. The victim said that the bag contained $144 in cash along with a check for $15.
