A wreck involving an ambulance over the weekend tragically resulted in a fatality in Lawrence County, Alabama.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported that on Saturday night around 9:30 p.m. a Helen Keller ambulance was transporting a patient to Birmingham when they were involved in an accident with a motorcycle.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Alabama Hwy 157 and Lawrence County Road 243 when 33 year old motorcyclist Sidney Canada ll was hit by the ambulance.

Neither the patient nor the ambulance workers were injured in the crash, but sadly the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate this incident.
