A traffic stop by agents with the West Tennessee Drug Task Force results in 1,010 pounds of marijuana and 46 pounds of magic mushroom being seized.

On Monday agents with the West Tennessee Drug Task Force uncovered a massive drug haul after conducting a traffic stop on I-40 where a Mercedez-Benz Sprinter van was pulled over for a traffic violation in Haywood County.

During the traffic stop agents developed reasonable suspicion to deploy a narcotics K9 around the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of 1,010 pounds of marijuana, 46 pounds of magic mushrooms, and $45,521 in drug proceeds.

One man, who has yet to be identified, is now charged with delivery of a Schedule I drug and Schedule VI narcotic where he is being held at the Haywood County Jail currently awaiting bond.

Evidence from the bust revealed that the suspect had been making deliveries and collecting cash throughout his trip which started in California.

During the investigation boxes of drugs were found inside the van which were labeled with the names of different states, and New York was the furthest delivery.
