Loretto Police Department are looking for the owner of truck that was found.

Loretto Police Department released the following information and photos:

"This release is brought to you in the spirit of Johnny Cash’s 1976 hit, “One Piece at a Time”.
I was sittin’ under the shade tree one day
when I devised a plan to get me a ride
I knew I couldn’t afford the parts,
and gettin caught meant hard jail time so I took a look around at what I had
I took a Toyota engine and frame, mounted a Ford Ranger cab on top along with a plastic jug for gas can when she fired right up
Now I was gonna have me a truck for less than a grand

I did it one piece at a time and it didn’t cost me a dime
You’ll know it’s me when I come through your town
It doesn’t have much style and it’ll drive the Troopers wild
And I’ll have the only one around

Well I went to St. Joe on Monday night and was prowling around when I guess I got caught
So I fled on up Main Street, took a right on the highway, and who did I meet?
The Loretto night patrol.
Well he whipped around on me and off we went
down Penny Road then back a bit
All while doing 40 miles per hour.

I did it one piece at a time and it didn’t cost me a dime
You’ll know it’s me when I come through your town
It doesn’t have much style and it’ll drive the Troopers wild
Cause I’ll have the only one around

Well we ended up on the Rabbit Trail
Where I took off across a corn field
and ended up down in a steep ravine
I was stopped by a stump but I was still in luck since I didn’t have doors all I had to do was jump!
And off into the night I went.

I did it one piece at a time and it didn’t cost me a dime
You’ll know it’s me when I come thru your town
It doesn’t have much style and it’ll drive the Troopers wild
Cause I’ll have the only one around

If you have any information about this vehicle, the owner, or who may have been driving it recently we would greatly appreciate it. You can reach us on here or by calling the Loretto City Hall.

If you’re a recording studio or artist looking to sign a record deal we will entertain those as well.

Special thanks to In Service Towing for fishing it out for us!"
