Pedestrians arrested in drug case

Pedestrians walking along an alley in Lawrenceburg Saturday were arrested on drug-related charges.An officer with the Lawrenceburg Police Department stopped to speak with a group of four people he saw walking in the alley near Kramer Street and May Street.

He notes in his report that as he approached, one of the men threw onto the ground, a plastic bag that contained a crystal substance believed to be meth. The officer searched the four people for weapons and contraband.

He reports that the same man, Richard Lee Summers, 37, who is homeless, had a marijuana pipe and set of digital scales in his bag.

While patting down Shawna Dean Stamps, 35, of 10 Powers Road, he found that she had two syringes in her pocket and that one of them contained blood. Both Summers and Stamps were placed under arrest and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

Stamps was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Summers was jailed on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of Schedule II narcotics (meth) for the purpose of resale. They have both been scheduled an initial General Sessions court date of January 4, 2019
