Officers arrest husband for stalking wife

Lawrenceburg Police officers arrested a Pulaski man Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly stalked his estranged wife while in possession of a firearm.

David Paul Scott, III, a resident of Rose Hill Road is facing charges of stalking, domestic assault, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and simple possession of marijuana. Scott’s estranged wife flagged down passing officers near her home on Jackson Street just after 1:30 p.m.

She said that he had stopped by her home to talk and that she noticed he had a handgun with him. This scared her and she ran away. She said that Scott then left her home.

A little bit later that afternoon officers were notified that Scott was following the victim as she drove down Buffalo Road. Officers stopped him shortly afterwards.

They report that there was a handgun lying on the passenger seat of his 1995 Ford Mustang. They also seized 7.5 grams of marijuana, digital scales and rolling papers.

According to the police report, Scott was having trouble breathing at the scene and was threatening to kill himself. Officers had him transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems for medical attention and mental evaluation
