Authorities seeking suspect in vehicle burglaries

Officials with the Lawrenceburg Police Department are seeking information from the public in the hopes of identifying person or persons responsible for some vehicle burglaries that occurred overnight Monday. Officers responded to a home on Eighth Street at around 11:35 Tuesday morning.

The resident, age 27,reported that someone had broken into two vehicles belonging to her, sometime between 11:30 the previous night and 7:00 that morning. She said that $27 cash was stolen out of her 2016 Ford Fusion, and her Tom-Tom GPS, valued at $80, was stolen out of a 2006 Mercury Mariner.

Approximately an hour later officers were called to a second home on Eighth Street. There, the resident reported that sometime after 8:00 p.m. Monday, someone gained entry to his 2013 Ford F150 truck.

He said that several items were stolen including a Fox brand backpack, a Microsoft Surface mini laptop, a folder of sheet music, a monitor, a set of ear buds, a bottle of Aleve, and a waistband gun holster. Altogether, he estimated his loss to total $868. The owner of the truck was able to retrieve security video that captured a man prowling about it.

The video was turned over to detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
