Traffic stop yields drugs, stolen property

On Wednesday, July 18, 2018, Narcotics Investigators with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department performed a traffic stop in the area of the intersection of Highway 227 East and US Highway 43. 

During the traffic stop, Investigators determined the vehicle being driven my Haley Michelle Keener (27) of Lawrenceburg, TN, to be stolen.  Keener was placed into custody for possession of stolen property. 

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded four bags containing approximately one ounce each of a crystal substance identified as methamphetamine for a total of four ounces.  Investigators located several items used to package and distribute methamphetamine as well as a 9MM handgun. 

Haley Keener was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance schedule II for resale, unlawful possession of a weapon (felon), theft of property over $10,000, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on revoked license.  Keener is being held on a $177,000 bond at the Lawrence County Detention Center.
