Summertown couple returns home to find their vehicle has been burglarized

Lawrenceburg Now

A Summertown couple reported to law enforcement officers recently that they returned from a trip to find that someone had burglarized their truck.

The male victim reported that he made the discovery when he was leaving his home to go to work on Monday morning. When he got into his truck he realized that someone had stolen his .357 chrome-plated handgun along with his wallet, which contained $200 cash.

The victim told Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies that he had found a flashlight with a 30-06 rifle casing attached inside the truck. He said that it did not belong to him, nor did it belong to anyone he knew. He said he believed it had been used during the commission of the crime.

Loss in the case was estimated to be $710.
