Thefts are reported through police department

Lawrenceburg Now

The Lawrenceburg Police Department has opened investigations into some thefts that were reported in the past few days.

One of the thefts was reported at a home on West Taylor Street. There, the resident said someone had stolen $100 in cash, an electronic tablet and a Nikon camera. She said they had a combined value of around $1,200.

On Monday officers spoke with an Oakwood Drive resident who reported that his son’s bicycle, valued at $130, was stolen the previous night. He said the bicycle was a Mongoose Element brand, 24” tall, and was black with neon colored letters. It was stolen from the front of the victim’s home.

Officers were asked to investigate the theft of a truck from outside Beer for Less on South Locust Avenue, however the truck was located the following day. The owner reported that someone had stolen his red and white, 1991 Ford F150 XL from the parking lot.

Reports show that the truck was found abandoned on Glenn Springs Road the following day with no apparent damage.
