Lawrenceburg/Lawrence County Airport was awarded $1 million dollar grant.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation Aeronautics Commission has awarded the Lawrenceburg/Lawrence County Airport a $1 million dollar grant for reconstruction of the airport that was originally built in 1960.
The reconstruction will start in June where it is expected to last around a month with the project being overseen by airport's engineering firm Neel-Schaffer Inc., construction by Road Work Inc., and Roger's Group.
The airport will remain open for fueling operations, accommodate local businesses, and transit aircrafts visiting.
