Brentwood police arrested a man that managed to steal their patrol vehicle leading police on a chase.

The Brentwood Police department stated on Friday they arrested Jerry Pack,44, of Columbia at the scene of a crash on Old Hickory Blvd. where the suspect managed to steal the patrol vehicle, and lead officers on a chase.

According to officers they had Pack handcuffed with his hands behind his back sitting in the back seat of their patrol vehicle when the suspect moved the handcuffs to the front of his body then climbed through the open cage, and proceeded to drive away.

Pack led officers on a pursuit through I-65 where he took the Concord Road exit heading southbound on Franklin Road where he fled into the woods on foot.

Officers were able to apprehend Pack who was transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries, and was arrested on charges of evading arrest, theft by possession, theft under $1,000, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
