New ordinance for the City of Lawrenceburg prohibits indoor furniture outdoors.

 

Thursday morning city leaders passed a new ordinance for the city of Lawrenceburg that prohibits storing indoor furniture outdoors.

The ordinance does stipulate that upholstered furniture not manufactured for outdoor use may no longer be placed on resident's porches, lawns, driveways, or any other outdoor areas.

Exceptions to the ordinance include porches that are fully enclosed, screened by screening material that are only accessible through a door that can be locked, balconies or porches located on 2nd floor or above.

Items may be placed outdoors for the purpose of disposal, or set out temporarily for a yard/garage sale.

Violation of the ordinance has a $50 penalty plus court cost for each day representing
