A Tennesse woman is in critical condition after an accidental shooting occurred by her son.

Chief Dunbar with the Millington Tennessee police department reported that a 10 year old boy got a hold of his mother's handgun that was in her purse while they were at a baseball game at the Millington USA Stadium.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she was listed as being in critical condition.

There are currently no further details at this time with this being an ongoing investigation.

The University of Memphis released a statement, "We are saddened by the unfortunate accidental shooting at the baseball game at USA Stadium in Millington. The University of Memphis is cooperating fully with authorities in the investigation. Our deepest thoughts are with the family.”
