DNA evidence leads to the arrest in a 22 year old Tennessee murder case.

Christa Bramlitt was found dead in the Sunnydale Mobile Home Park in Clarksville Tennessee in October 28th, 1996 where she had been sexually assaulted and killed.

During the autopsy a sexual assault evidence collection kit was conducted then sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Invegations Crime Lab for analysis.

A DNA profile was obtained where it was then loaded into the Combined DNA Index System in search of a possible match.

Kenneth Hudspeth, 48, was entered into the database after he was charged with a felony assault in Arizona, and after 22 years the system found a match in Christa Bramlitt's murder.

After interviewing Hudspeth it was established that he was in Clarksville at the time of Bramlitt's murder, he knew the victim, was present in her home on the day of her death, and also was the last person to see her alive.

Hudspeth did not deny any of the facts presented, and he was arrested on April 16th in Phoenix were he was charged with criminal homicide.

A statement by the Investigators reported there were over 1,500 pages of documentation associated with the homicide investigation of Crista Bramlitt, and the original detective, Charvis, on the case has since retired.

Because Hudspeth waived extradition he will be taken to Clarksville where he will be booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
