Police look into another incident with counterfeit $100 bill

Lawrenceburg Now

Lawrenceburg Police officers opened an investigation Wednesday when yet another counterfeit $100 bill surfaced at a local business.

Officials with Music Tripp on North Locust Avenue stopped by the police department to report the matter. He said that a white man with brown hair, who was in his mid-to-late thirties and weighed somewhere around 220 pounds came into the business that day and purchased $40 worth of merchandise.

He said the man paid using a counterfeit $100 bill, however employees did not realize that it was counterfeit until after the man had left the premises.

Store officials told officers they would bring them security video that showed the crime. Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division are continuing to investigate the matter.
