Burglary investigation lands four in jail

A recent burglary investigation undertaken by Lawrenceburg Police officers resulted in drug charges being brought against four people.

According to Lawrenceburg Police Department reports, officers were called to 322 Tipton Street when the owner of the residence learned that someone had broken in. Officers discovered that there were four people in the garage of the home. The garage door had been forced open, resulting in around $265 worth of damage.

The people found inside were: Charles Jeffery O’Neal, 45, of 2013 Silverton Circle, Springhill; Jeffery Clint Garland, 27, of 51 Clark Road, Lawrenceburg; James Brian South, 47, of 903 West Point Road, Lawrenceburg; and Amanda Kaye Pruitt, 37, of 332 Third Street, Lawrenceburg.

While searching the premises, officers found drugs and drug paraphernalia, including 6 grams of meth, 5 syringes, ½ Suboxone, plastic baggies and Klonopin pills. They seized five cell phones and a car along with $60 believed to be proceeds of illegal drug transactions.

Officers transported all four to the Lawrence County Jail. They were all charged with possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, burglary, vandalism, and criminal trespassing. Garland and Pruitt were also charged with simple possession.

Garland’s and O’Neal’s bond was set at $15,000 while Pruitt’s and South’s bond was $30,000. Court dates were set for all four on June 1, 2017.
