Vandalism spree under investigation
Lawrenceburg Now
Law enforcement officials are investigating a number of vehicle vandalisms that occurred during the weekend, resulting in hundreds of dollars worth of damage for each victim.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to 405 Oak Street shortly after 7:00 Sunday morning where they spoke with five separate victims. Each reported that sometime during the previous night someone had slashed their tires and used a sharp object to scratch the paint.
Officers were later called to a home on Crockett Street where a resident reported similar damages. He told officers that when he arrived home the previous afternoon, someone had parked in his assigned parking space. He said that he wrote a note explaining this, and left it on the windshield of the vehicle.
The victim said that he came out around 9:30 that morning to find that both tires on the driver’s side had been cut and the paint scratched on all four sides of the car. He was not certain what his total loss might be, but estimated that replacement of his tires alone would cost $500.
Anyone who has information about any of the crimes is urged to contact the police department at 931-762-2276.
