Burglary

Police officers were asked to investigate Sunday when a Tipton Street resident reported that his house had been burglarized. He told officers that he had been away from home most of the previous day, retuning around midnight to find a west side door open. He said he assumed that he had left it unlocked and did not notice until the next day that some of his belongings were missing. Stolen were a Samsung laptop, Sony speakers, 300 pound weight set, several check books, a Craftsman tool set, arrowheads, an inscribed Zippo lighter, Timex watch, Carhart jacket, Verizon prepaid phone, and food and water from the refrigerator. Loss was approximately $900.

Theft

On Saturday, police officers spoke with a resident of East Taylor Street who reported several items missing out of her vehicle. She reported that someone had gained entry to the vehicle in her driveway, taking a jar that contained collectible coins along with a bank card, flashlights, vitamins, and various keys. Altogether, the victim estimated loss at $575.

He went outside to check and found that someone had spray painted his truck as well as a house trailer situated behind his home. Altogether, damages were estimated to total $4,500.

Theft

Deputies investigated the burglary of a Hudson Road home where the resident reported someone had broken after he left to eat breakfast. He told deputies that he was alerted to the burglary when he found a magnifying glass lying on his bed. He said he looked around and found that a tall plastic bottle that contained at least $700 in change, was missing. He said when he returned the doors had been locked and he noticed no sign of a break-in.. At the time reports were filed he was working to obtain security video in the hopes of identifying the burglar.
