Monday Crime Report

Lawrenceburg Now

Vehicle theft

Deputies were asked to investigate the theft of a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo from an Evans Road home last week. The owner said it had been parked in the driveway with the keys inside while he was away. He told deputies that he had purchased the car just eight days prior.

Burglary

An Old Powerhouse Road resident summoned deputies to his property last week, indicating that someone had burglarized his storage building. Three canoes were stolen, with a combined value of around $800.

Vandalism

Deputies responded to a Beeler Road address last week where the home owner reported it had sustained extensive damage by his former tenants. Reports show that there were holes in walls, the door to the heat return had been knocked in, and a large bathroom mirror was broken, as were countertops in the kitchen. A contractor estimated repairs would cost $6,000.

Theft

An Oak Street, Summertown resident reported to deputies recently that a 2016 model black trailer with lift gate and white rims had been stolen from beside his garage. He estimated his loss to be around $800.

Burglary

The owner of Campbell’s Used Tractors and Implements on Pulaski Highway reported a $1,300 loss due to a recent burglary. Phone lines and power cords had been cut to a telephone and answering machine in the office and both stolen. A window on the north side of the building was broken. In addition, every window and fixture on an old school bus on the property had been broken.

Theft

Deputies responded to a Lambs Ferry Road home last week where the resident reported a package had been stolen. Although information indicated the package had been delivered, it was nowhere to be found when he arrived home. Loss was around $20.

Theft

Police officers spoke with a woman last week who reported money had been stolen out of her locker at her place of employment. She told officers that she had cashed her paycheck and the $400 cash was in her wallet. She had placed the wallet inside her locker at work. She said she had accidentally left the wallet in her locker when she left. She returned a short time later to retrieve it and discovered that the cash was missing.

Vandalism

God’s Girls Ministry located at 1000 Buffalo Road suffered a $250 loss at the hands of vandals last week. Business representatives reported to officers that someone had tampered with a door lock, causing around $50 in damage. They then unplugged the freezer, allowing around $200 worth of food to thaw and ruin.
