Shoplifter detained twice during same call

Police officers detained the same woman twice during a call regarding shoplifting last week. Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department indicate that an officer was dispatched to Dollar General Store, located at 2010 North Locust Avenue, where store personnel had detained the suspected shoplifter, identified as Angela Jean McGuire, 50, of 503 East Gaines Street, Lawrenceburg.

After speaking with McGuire, the officer wrote her a citation on a shoplifting charge, then walked her to the front of the store and released her.

He went to the rear of the store to complete his paperwork and was informed by a customer that the woman had taken some items from the front of the store after she had been released.

The officer reports finding McGuire behind a garbage can at a neighboring business. She threw some items onto the ground, which were found to be three pairs of house shoes. Value of the shoes was said tobe $10.

Following the second incident the officer placed McGuire under arrest and transported her to the Lawrence County Jail. She was incarcerated under a theft charge with bond set at $2,000.
