Special thanks to Kathy Neidergeses and the Lawrence County Archives.
Built in the 1930's, the Salant and Salant building stands today as seen in this west section next to the railroad tracks. I've heard stories of how this plant saved Lawrenceburg during the depression.
H.B. Brink Lumber Company we discovered may have been located at the same spot but has had several buildings as home base. Several photos we found each show a different building or at least add ons to existing ones. This view looks east with Salant and Salant in the background. The banner "Patterson & Carmack for Governor" dates to 1908. Carmack declared his candidacy in the 1908 gubernatorial election. HIs opponent in the Democratic primary was Malcolm R. Patterson, the incumbent governor.
